Originally from the Philippines, Jessie moved to Brown County in 2011. With experience as a dental assistant, Jessie is excited to greet and help our patients as one of our receptionists. She loves being outside, hiking, kayaking, and relaxing on her front porch reading and listening to music. She spoils her English bulldog, Apollo.
JoAnn is from Lynchburg, VA, and moved to Columbus in 2015. She has over ten years of experience as a medical receptionist, and now assists our patients with insurance and billing concerns. When she’s not checking benefits or filing claims, JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family and her cats, Shellie and Callie, and trying new recipes.
Originally from Seymour, John brings over 40 years of optical experience to our office. He graduated from Erie Community College with a degree in opticianry that he has utilized in private practice, retail settings, and optical laboratories. A man of many interests, John competed for a number of years with the United States Practical Pistol Association. Married with three grown children, John’s family includes three Labrador retrievers named Wiggle, Maggie, and Griz.
Morgan is a senior at Indiana University in Bloomington pursuing a pre-optometry degree with plans to attend Indiana University School of Optometry. She has four years of experience working in optometry offices, and enjoys helping patients select fun and stylish eyewear. When she’s not busy studying or working, Morgan enjoys spending time with her cats, Rowdy and Sebastian, and painting.
Amy is originally from Beavercreek, OH, and started working at Brown County Eye Care in January 2016. Amy has experience in a wide variety of fields, including office and computer work, cosmetology, and patient care. Amy worked closely with Dr. Pickel to receive training as an optometric technician. When she’s not in the office, Amy enjoys hiking, crocheting, reading, spending time with her happy calico cat, Alia, and volunteering full time.
Emily lives in Bloomington and graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2012 with a degree in opticianry/optometric technology. She has worked at Brown County Eye Care since May 2012, and enjoys interacting with patients as she performs pre-testing and special testing during their exams. In addition to working here as an optometric technician, Emily teaches at Ivy Tech Community College and volunteers full-time. Emily enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, hiking, and the occasional water balloon fight.
