JoAnn – Insurance Specialist

JoAnn is from Lynchburg, VA, and moved to Columbus in 2015. She has over ten years of experience as a medical receptionist, and now assists our patients with insurance and billing concerns. When she’s not checking benefits or filing claims, JoAnn enjoys spending time with her family and her cats, Shellie and Callie, and trying new recipes.

Jon

Jon is originally from Noblesville, IN. He moved to Brown County in 2013 with his wife Sarah. Jon started working at Brown County Eye Care in 2019 and he works as our front desk specialist and one of our technicians. In his spare time, he loves to fish and spend time going to concerts. While relaxing at home, he enjoys playing with their family pets.

Shaphir

Shaphir is our newest addition to the Brown County Eye Care team.  She is originally from Alabama but made her home with her beautiful daughter in Bloomington over five years ago.  She has had experience with patient care, eye care, chiropractic care and cosmetology.  Outside of work, Shaphir and her daughter enjoy sharing with others music, laughter and good news.

Optical

John

Originally from Seymour, John brings over 40 years of optical experience to our office. He graduated from Erie Community College with a degree in opticianry that he has utilized in private practice, retail settings, and optical laboratories. A man of many interests, John competed for a number of years with the United States Practical Pistol Association. Married with three grown children, John’s family includes three Labrador retrievers named Wiggle, Maggie, and Griz.

Technician

Amy

Amy and her husband are originally from Ohio. Amy started working at Brown County Eye Care in January 2016. Amy has experience in a wide variety of fields, including office and computer work, cosmetology, and patient care. Amy worked closely with Dr. Pickel to receive training as an optometric technician. When she’s not in the office, Amy enjoys hiking with her husband, reading, spending time with her calico cat, and volunteering full time.
